ATM18: Where are you really from?
To what extent is the migratory experience central to Asian identities and artistic practice in contemporary art? How do modern Asian identities intersect with current narratives around sexuality, masculinity, feminism and queerness? What are the myths and stereotypes that perpetrate the notion of otherness within British-Asian identities and how can that be disrupted by artistic practice?
The Thai sisters and artists Fa and Fon Watkins, Manchester-based illustrator Stanley Chow and writer and performer Anjum Malik discuss their practice with Skinder Hundal, Director of New Art Exchange, Nottingham.
